

Arcane trickster can make it work because they don't have to multiclass (giving up sneak attack dice), but it's still not a great spell for them because they can't pick it up until level 7 and they can't upcast it until level 13.

The problem with swashbuckler (or any rogue but arcane trickster) is that you're never making more than one attack with it which means that you're (almost) always going to lose damage by using it instead of a normal weapon because you're giving up more sneak attack dice to multiclass and gain access to the spell than the spell actually gives you (the possible exception is if you have no source of advantage besides the spell, but there are so many ways for rogues to get advantage, that seems implausible).
